Common Lends Voice To 'Terminator' Videogame
Hip-Hop star Common will lend his voice to the upcoming Terminator Salvation videogame set to be released this May. Common will reprise his role as “Barnes,” the humorous ex-football player who manages to remain upbeat, while battling a legion of Terminators. Also featured in the videogame is actress Rose McGowan “Angie Salter” in a voice role that is exclusive to Terminator Salvation. Also featured in the game is actress Moon Bloodgood as “Blair Williams.” The Terminator Salvation videogame allows players to assume the role of John Conner, who is battling the superior forces of Skynet and the Terminator machines, as well as new enemies designed specifically for the game. Terminator Salvation will be released in conjunction with the Warner Bros./ Sony Pictures film, which opens May 21.

Kanye’s Radiohead Diss & Chris Brown Plea Cut From VH1’s Storytellers
During the taping, according to a Reuters reporter, West was aggrieved that Radiohead singer Thom Yorke had allegedly snubbed him backstage at the Grammys five days earlier. That hurt, West told the audience, because he idolizes the British band, and considers it one of his few creative rivals.
“So when he performed at the Grammys, I sat the f— down,” West said.
A little later, West asked the crowd, “Can’t we give Chris a break? … I know I make mistakes in life.” He was referring to R&B singer Chris Brown, who was arrested on the night of the Grammys on suspicion of beating his girlfriend Rihanna.
In the same context, West earned loud applause with his declaration: “Michael Jackson, amazing. Michael Phelps, amazing … He’s a real f—in’ person; he makes mistakes,” referring to the champion swimmer’s recent bong pipe brouhaha.
VH1 has cleaned up those comments a bit, and it also included West’s less-popular follow-up observation: “O.J. Simpson, amazing. Is he not? What he did, when he did, what he did. Was he not amazing though?”
In between his speeches, West found time to perform 14 songs. Some, such as “Go Hard” and “Street Lights,” will not appear on the episode. The final set list combines older tunes like “Touch the Sky” and “Stronger,” and tracks from his new album “808s and Heartbreak,” including “Amazing” and “See You In My Nightmares.”
The taping of the show, which premieres on Saturday night, reportedly lasted three hours, and producers will be cutting it down to 90 minutes for air. The typical “Storytellers” is one hour long, so the editing out of some of West’s comments is not a conspiracy to silence him, according to a rep for VH1.

Anderson Cooper Says 50 & The Republicans Are Losers
After last night's State Of The Union address, the anchors on CNN got into a little discussion of the hip-hop horseraces of 18 months ago, and how they paralleled the bickering between the Democrats and the Republicans over Barack Obama's various initiatives. Yes, that's right: The 50 Cent/Kanye West beef made it to Anderson Cooper 360, with Kanye taking on the role of Barack Obama and 50 Cent serving as a stand-in for the Republicans. While Curtis has claimed allegiance with the GOP in the past, he may not be too happy with the reason Cooper gave for lumping the two parties together. (Hint: It's not because of their shared affinity for Vitamin Water and/or unfettered capitalism.) The excerpted transcript after the jump.
"ROLAND MARTIN, CNN CONTRIBUTOR: Look, what he's doing, he's laying down: Here are the markers in terms of my presidency.
I guess, if I had to use an example, sort of when like (INAUDIBLE) Kanye West had his new album, and he said, I want to make it as bad as Stevie Wonder's...
(CROSSTALK)
MARTIN: He said, if it doesn't get to that, it's still a great album.
This is a guy who is saying, a president who's saying: Look, I want to raise the stakes. And, so, isn't it amazing that we're sitting here, saying, wow, an ambitious president?
Well, shouldn't we have an ambitious president? Shouldn't we have a president saying, we can do more? He said during the campaign: I can do more things at one time.
And, so, look, if he's able to achieve even half of what he said, frankly, a lot of folks will be pleased because of the last eight years.
COOPER: In your Kanye West analogy, I guess the Republicans, then, are 50 Cent?
MARTIN: Yes, because...
COOPER: Because they lost..."
Anderson Cooper 1...50 Cent...0...Let the battle begin.... Cant Wait for 50's video LoL

Drake on Ghostwriting for Wayne, Kanye comparisons etc...
In just the last few years, Canadian rapper/actor, Drake has supplanted himself as a Hip Hop artist to watch in 2009. With his latest mixtape, So Far Gone [click to listen], dropping last week, the Toronto transplant spoke to Complex.com about the new project, comparisons to Kanye West, and his work with Lil Wayne.
Describing So Far Gone as a story read through melody, Drake explained the concept of the album cover and title. “It’s this kid in pursuit of love and money...sometimes you just get so far gone, you get wrapped up in this shit.” Drakeadded, “The title has a lot of meanings—as the way we carry ourselves, the way we dress, the way people view us, not to sound cocky, it’s just that feeling that we’re just distanced in a good way.”
Along with his commendable lyricism, Drake has also proven himself to be exceptional crooner on So Far Gone. Commenting on the current trends recently set by T-Pain and Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak [click to read], Drake made it clear that as far as singing goes, he’s in his own lane.
Kanye West has an amazing mind, but he always has the means that when he thinks something, he can make it happen right away. But I’ve been singing way before ‘808s and Heartbreak.’ I’ve been in the R&B world for a long time, writing for artists, writing for myself, playing with different sounds and stuff.”
Expressing his dedication to R&B, Drake continued, “I love R&B music, man, that’s what you gotta understand, I listen to R&B music more than I listen to rap. That’s kinda my thing. I just want to make genuinely sexy music for women to listen to and for men to play for women.”
With a huge co-sign from Lil Wayne, and subsequently touring with the New Orleans native, Drake is more than on his way to Hip Hop stardom. When asked if he has ever ghostwritten for Weezy though, Drake made it clear that work in the booth is collaborative. “You know, we’re all great artists, great minds, and we all just contribute to each other; there’s been times when Wayne has helped me out, and I’m sure, I hope, I’ve influenced him to do or say things on tracks. We help each other out, that’s part of being two artists who respect each others’ creativity.”
