47th Best Hip-Hop Albums Of All Time: The Clipse - Lord Willin

Why??? Man this is one of the hardest & ILL-est albums ever...It should be higher but it take the 47th spot on my list. It has a good mix a gangsta, commercial, intricate word playing & chick joints...This album should of went triple real rap...

Best Song: Grindin' (Of Course)

Best Bar(s): Malice - I'm Not You

Yes it pains me to see them need this/All of them lost souls and I'm their Jesus

Best Verse: Malice - Intro

I even went by the book at first
Until I realized 9 to 5 wouldn't quench my thirst, so I
Start my mission, leave my residence
Mama knew that I child like me had better sense
But something had to give, that's real I had to live
I chefed that soft white and pumped from her crib
Scouts honor started with my grandmama
Who distributed yay she had flown in from the Bahamas
Partner, please, I grinds, I hustle with ease
Can damn near eyeball any weight in my sleep
I don't entertain hate surrounding the street
If I was you, I'd be trynna get down with me
But no, see these niggas know too much
Meanwhile I rock jewels that look like my diamonds blush
Cats act as if rap fell in my lap
I've suffered heartbreak many times back to back
And still feel belittled sittin' here spittin' riddles
Amongst clown ass rappers who tend to give me the giggles
Let 'em take it however they wanna take it
I'm the reason your favorite MC's no longer your favorite
Hey, I one of the greats, I can't lie
I mean great to the point I'm concerned I might die
Make no mistake, Malice is who you tune to
It's all in the name, trust, I will wound you

Side Note: Even though Malice got the best verse & bar on the album I think Pusha is still better

Clipse Interview w/ Amanda Diva

Pusha talks a bit about the premise of the video for “Kinda Like A Big Deal”, mentions that he has the hottest clothes in the streets right now, and Malice expands a bit on what the album is about. The interview is only for the first two minutes of the video though.

Clipse feat. Pharrell - I’m Good (prod. The Neptunes)

Here’s the official single from the Clipse’ third album Til The Casket Drops, which is coming in September. Artwork by KAWS, who’s also working on the album’s cover art. “I’m Good” is the first of two official singles dropping in the next few weeks.

Clipse Glad Kanye Collabo Leaked

The Clipse love the fan reaction, but once again, they had a record come out before it was time. The brothers had planned a grand introduction of their new single, “Kinda Like a Big Deal,” with Kanye West. The artwork for the single was done by KAWS, and the duo were in the process of mastering the song before it hit the Net earlier this week.

“We heard it leaked — God!” Pusha T said standing on Collins Avenue with his brother, Malice. “Just when we had everything in order,” Push said of the timeline to release the record, “it just happens. We’re happy Kanye got on the record. The response has been crazy. Rave reviews about it. Thanks for everybody lending an ear.”
…
“Kanye was in Japan somewhere [when he laid his verse]. He called and was like, ‘I’ll have your verse done in two hours.’ Two or three hours, it was done,” Push said of the collabo.

“It was just how we was feeling at the time, as far as the Clipse and a Kanye collaboration with the artwork, KAWS,” the younger Clipse member explained of the blissful, boastful content. “The name of the song is ‘Kinda Like A Big Deal’ — everything around that had to be big. It’s just how we was feeling. This third album is kinda like a big deal, the collaboration, all of that, is like a big deal.”

“Being back with Pharrell is like a big deal,” Malice interjected. The Clipse’s Till the Casket Drops is tentatively set to come out in September. And the two promise big radio records to go with their M.O. of those gritty street jams.

Clipse Denies Kanye Deebo Rumors, Talks “Amazing” Cam’ron Collaboration

Rumors recently hit the net that Kanye West has kept a song he did with Clipse for their upcoming Columbia debut, for himself. XXLMag.com chopped it up with Pusta T to find out if there is any truth behind gossip.

As previously reported, the song, titled “Kinda Like A Big Deal” which was produced by DJ Khalil, was supposed to be premiering last Monday (March 9). When it was never released rumors spread that Ye jacked the track to use as a theme song for his new Nike kicks, the Air Yeezys. “That’s totally false,” Pusha told XXLMag.com. “I mean I don’t even know what to say. I don’t even know where they got that from. Me and Ye’ just talked the other day and we got real big plans for the record.”

“[Kanye’s] not trying to take anything,” he added. “Like I said I just hate there’s so many different parties involved with what we’re planning I can’t really speak on anything and the statement that was made was totally false. To put Ye’ in that light was not cool and he’s been nothing but helpful in the making of the record and the insight on the album as a whole.”

Another rapper that Clipse recruited for the disc is the recently resurfaced Dipset leader Cam’ron. The collaboration is a match made in heaven for fans of both artists’ penchant for coke raps. “Oh my god, I think the Cam’ron record is going to be an amazing, amazing record,” he said. “I mean I think people are really gonna enjoy that one.”

Pusha says the track was tailor made for the Harlem Don by longtime Clipse producers The Neptunes. “We found the record, we called him and told him we wanted him to be on the record and then we actually went to Miami and found the record in Miami with Pharrell. He made it and he was like this is the one for Cam.”
Clipse’s third studio album Til The Casket Drops is set for a summer release.

Damn the release of “Kinda Like A Big Deal” is becoming Kinda Like....Well...A Big Deal

Kanye Clips The Clipse Wings

A few weeks ago this Entertainment Weekly article promised that the new Clipse single "Kinda Like A Big Deal" would be released on Monday March 9. Well as you can see that hasn't happened yet. What's the hold up? Well the streets are saying that the song's guest Kanye West is considering keeping the song for himself to be used as the theme song to sell his new Air Yeezy shoe. Damn 'Ye how could you be so heartless? Ha!

Sidebar: All may not be lost for the brothers Thornton who I heard recorded a hot collabo with Cam'ron "Mr. Promo" Giles that's produced by Pharrell.
