Lloyd Becomes The Latest Artist To Leave The Inc

Roughly a month after R&B singer Ashanti was let go from The Inc, formerly Murder Inc, another artist on the label is asking to be let go.

Singer Lloyd, who has been with The Inc for five years now, cites the need for more control and change as reasons for his departure from the slowly shrinking label.

“I’m ready for a change,” Lloyd explained in a press release. “There’s no bad blood. I just feel I need to take more control over my career and get a fresh start. Hopefully Irv can understand my position.”

Lloyd’s departure from The Inc probably comes as quite a shock to fans of the show Gotti’s Way 2 a show that revolves around the life of The Inc CEO Irv Gotti and his family but also features Lloyd as well as other artists such as Ja Rule and Vanessa Carlton.

“We find ourselves in limbo for the second time in three years,” Henry Lee, Lloyd’s manager said in a statement. “It’s frustrating to know that opportunities to advance Lloyd’s career are out there but we can’t exploit them due to our current situation. Even though Lloyd is appreciative of the opportunity that has been afforded him by The Inc, he feels it’s time for him to move on and seek opportunities that will allow him to build and enhance his brand.”

Lloyd notified fans that an announcement regarding his “label situation” would be made earlier this week via his Twitter page writing, “I’ve been meeting with my management team and my attorneys for the past 2 days. Expect an announcement today regarding my label situation…”

Currently Lloyd is working on his fourth album, his first three albums were released on The Inc.

Irv Gottihas yet to respond to this recent news surrounding Lloyd and The Inc.
