Welcome to my blog!!!I am the Philly Soul Emcee Haile Selassie a.k.a. the Tigray warrior. Here is a little info about me...my parents moved to the states a few months before I was born & growing up I always felt out of place. I was either too American for most Ethiopians or too African for most Americans. But the displacement allowed me see the world in an unbiased view. This vision transcends through my music. I make music that moves a global audience.
I always felt like an outcast growing up but it wasn't until I fell in love with Hip-Hop that people started respecting my uniqueness. Ever since my first rhyme people have always told me I was years ahead my peers. Since then I have flourished with that same mindset, if there is one word to describe me that would be innovator. With this stagnate slump Hip-Hop is currently in, I vow to do my part to reset and refresh Hip-Hop.
Currently I am living in Los Angeles. I moved out here a year ago to attend the Musicians Institute to gain knowledge of the current state of the Music Biz and to formulate a plan of attack...So here we go....SELASSIE IS HERE!!!
